| Eligibility Criteria
||Applicant must be a continuing sophomore, junior, or senior student with a major in Communication and an emphasis in organizational communication, communication studies, or public communication. Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.25, and has actively participated in programs, activities and/or work related to the communication field. Demonstrated excellence in public speaking is also expected.

||Go to the Gold for Blugolds Scholarship Network. Complete the Communication and Journalism Scholarship Application.
| Selection Procedure
||The Communication and Journalism Scholarship Committee will select the recipient.
| Selection Deadline
||Early to mid-April.
The chair of the department will send notification to the recipient.
The winner is expected to attend the Communication and Journalism Student Excellence Recognition Reception held the last day of spring classes.
| Special Notes
||Donald L. Wolfarth held a teaching position in the speech department at UW-Eau Claire from 1967 until his retirement in 1988. He was active as a judge in the various high school and college debate and forensics events held on campus. Before working the speech department, he studied with the American Institute of Parliamentarian. In 1969, he created the parliamentary procedure course. Professor Wolfarth's department chair said of him: 'Don was outstanding as a scholar, teacher and colleague. But he was extraordinary as a friend.'
