Eligibility Criteria

The recipient must be a junior or senior in good academic standing with the potential for academic and career success. Must be a single custodial parent with dependent children and have demonstrated financial need as required by the UW-Eau Claire Foundation's scholarship award standards. Preference is to provide this scholarship to students who have need that will be unmet by traditional forms of financial assistance.

This scholarship is renewable for up to two additional years. It is preferred, though not required, that the recipient reapply for the scholarship. Renewal recipients must maintain the criteria listed above.

Application Procedure

To be considered for Nontraditional Student Scholarships, you must be admitted to the university, enrolled in courses, and be in good academic standing. Once you are admitted and enrolled, you must:
 
Go to the Nontraditional Student Services site and select the Scholarships page. Read through the information there, then go to Gold for Blugolds Scholarship Network at: https://uwec.scholarships.ngwebsolutions.com and complete the Nontraditional Students and Student Parents Scholarship Application. If you are a female nontraditional student, you may also complete the PEO and AAUW Nontraditional Female Students application.

Selection Procedure Nontraditional Student Services will coordinate the selection process. Applications will be considered holistically and include a review of the student's academic record and financial need (in most cases).
Selection Deadline Screening of candidates will begin in April.
Notification Award notices will be sent to scholarship recipients, typically in early July.
