|Amount||One award of $1,500.|
|Eligibility Criteria||This award is available to a nontraditional student majoring in English in either the College of Arts and Sciences or College of Education and Human Sciences, graduate or undergraduate, who is enrolled at least half time and whose GPA is 3.5 or above.|
|Application Procedure||Applicants should obtain their application forms from the English department office. Applicants must submit a letter of application, a current transcript, and a resume along with the names of two English professors who can speak to their qualifications for this scholarship.|
|Application Deadline||March 1|
|Selection Procedure||The English Department Scholarship Committee will select the recipient based on academic performance or evidence of academic potential, financial need, and the quality of the written essay.|
|Selection Deadline||Approximately April 1.|
Notification to the recipient will be made by the Scholarship Committee. Enclosed with the notification letter shall be a biographical sketch of Clara B. Small explaining how this scholarship came to exist. The department submits a Scholarship Award Form to the Financial Aid office.
The recipient will be formally honored during the annual English Festival Awards Ceremony.
