Eligibility Criteria

Recipient must be a full-time accounting major who has completed an internship with WIPFLI or who has been selected for an internship with WIPFLI, with at least junior status and financial need who has completed Accounting 301, been admitted to the College of Business and has a GPA of 3.0 or above. Recipient must have demonstrated significant participation in University, College, department, or community organizations and must have potential for leadership as displayed by these activities, and have the ability and desire to enter the public accounting profession.

If there are no qualified applicants who have completed or will be completing an internship with WIPFLI, any outstanding accounting major from Wisconsin who fulfills the other requirements may be considered for this award.

Selection Procedure Candidate selection will be made by the Accounting and Finance Scholarship Committee.
Notification The Accounting and Finance Department Scholarship Committee will send the recipient a notification letter.
Special Notes This scholarship was established in 2009 by Thomas and Barbara Johnson of Menomonie, WI. Tom, a 1975 UW-Eau Claire accounting graduate, is the managing partner for WIPFLI's accounting office in Menomonie. Barb, a 1974 education major and community volunteer, is a native of Eau Claire. They met while students at Eau Claire.
