|Amount||One award of $700.|
Applicant must be a full-time sophomore or first semester junior (30-74 credits earned) who has completed -- or is currently enrolled -- in 'Math 216', declared a mathematics major and has both a math and cumulative GPA of at least 3.0. Equal consideration is given to education or liberal arts students.
Financial need is not a consideration.
|Application Procedure||Go to the Gold for Blugolds Scholarship Network. Complete the Mathematics Scholarship Application.|
|Selection Procedure||Each member of the Mathematics Department Awards Committee will use the applicant's grade point average, statement of career objectives, and letters of recommendation to rank the applicants. The Committee will then, without discussing the applicants, arrive at a cumulative ranking using the rankings of the individual members. The applicant with the highest ranking will receive the award. Ties will be broken using the same procedure on only those applicants that are tied.|
|Selection Deadline||First week in March.|
|Notification||The recipient of this scholarship will receive a notification letter and will be honored at the Department of Mathematics Graduation and Awards Celebration.|
|Thank You||Recipient should write a letter of thanks to the family of Lawrence and Dorothy Wahlstrom and forward it to the UW-Eau Claire Foundation.|
