Eligibility Criteria For a continuing student majoring in one of the liberal arts, with preference given to communication and journalism majors. Qualifying majors include: art and design, music and theatre, communication and journalism, philosophy and religious studies, English, languages, history, American Indian studies, women's studies, Latin American studies, or liberal studies. The student must have demonstrated service and leadership on campus and/or in the community and show promise as a future community leader.
Application Procedure Go to the Gold for Blugolds Scholarship Network. Complete the Communication and Journalism Scholarship Application.
Selection Procedure The Communication and Journalism Scholarship Committee will select the recipient.
Selection Deadline Early to mid-April.
Notification

The chair of the department will send notification to the recipient.

The winner is expected to attend the Communication and Journalism Student Excellence Recognition Reception held the last day of spring classes.

Thank You A letter of gratitude addressed to Mrs. Ruth Anne Polk should be submitted directly to the communication and journalism program assistant.
