Eligibility Criteria

Awarded annually to a second year CSD student seeking career opportunities to serve individuals with communication disorders in a medical rehab setting. The recipient must be in good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 3.7.

Students who are Mayo Clinic employees or considering becoming employees of Mayo Clinic may receive special consideration.

Financial need also will be a consideration in the selection.

Application Procedure Only applicants who complete the scholarship application form and have at least two letters of recommendation for the scholarship submitted by February 1 will be eligible for the award. Application/nomination forms are available from the CSD Graduate Coordinator.
Application Deadline October 1 of the student's second year of the graduate program.
Selection Procedure Determined based upon a combination of past accomplishments and strong undergraduate academic records. A committee of past CSD master's degree graduates will independently rank applications for this scholarship. In the event of a tie, committee members will be asked to rank the tied applications. The Scholarship Committee will submit its rankings to the CSD Graduate Coordinator.
Selection Deadline Mid-November.
Notification The winner will be notified in writing. The chair of CSD will submit a scholarship award form to the Financial Aid office. The scholarship award will be applied to the recipient's account with the Business Office for application toward tuition and fees.
Thank You The recipient is required to send a thank you note within 30 days of receiving notification of the award to the Mayo Clinic Health System - Eau Claire Foundation, Inc., in care of the UW-Eau Claire Foundation. Submit the letter to the CSD Graduate Coordinator, who will in turn forward the letter on to the Foundation.
