Eligibility Criteria

Provides financial assistance to an undergraduate elementary, secondary, or special education major who has attained a high level of scholarship and who shows promise for becoming a successful career teacher. To be eligible for the scholarship, the student must be from Wisconsin, have a resident GPA of 3.5 or higher, and be a full-time student.

Students who are parents should be given special consideration.

Application Procedure

Go to the Gold for Blugolds Scholarship Network. Complete the Teacher Education Scholarship Application.

Selection Procedure The Education Scholarship Committee will select the recipient of the scholarship based upon the criteria above.
Selection Deadline On or about April 1.
Notification The office of the associate dean of Education and Human Sciences will notify the recipient by letter. The recipient will be invited to participate in the College of Education and Human Sciences awards ceremony each spring.
Special Notes This scholarship was established by the daughters of Martin Mogensen, Marti Mogensen and Margaret Nelson Brinkhouse, and other Mogensen family members in memory of Martin, a 1952 UW-Eau Claire graduate. Mogensen became one of the first victims of a school shooting in this country when, at the age of 46, he was killed by a student in the Tomah school where he served as principal.
