Lucretia S. Mattson Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria

Recipient must be a full-time junior or senior accounting major with financial need who has completed Accounting 301, been admitted to the College of Business, have a GPA of 3.0 or above, and plans to enter the accounting profession. Preference will be given to nontraditional student, age 25 or older.

This scholarship must not reduce other financial aid, excluding federal work-study funding.

Application Procedure A letter of application outlining educational and career goals should be submitted to the accounting and finance Scholarship Committee, along with a transcript of all academic work completed.
Application Deadline Applications become available the week before spring break and are due the week after spring break.
Selection Procedure The accounting and finance Scholarship Committee will make the selection.
Selection Deadline To be determined by the Scholarship Committee, but no later than June 1.
Notification The Scholarship Committee will send written notification to Financial Aid prior to June 1.
Special Notes This scholarship is given to honor the career of Dr. Lucretia S. Mattson, a former accounting professor. Eric and Barbara Cutler both had Dr. Mattson for a tax accounting class and thought she was wonderful.
Thank You The recipient is encouraged to write two thank you notes; one addressed to Lucretia Mattson and one addressed to Barbara and Eric Cutler and send them in care of the UW-Eau Claire Foundation.
