Special Notes

Northwestern Bank, headquartered in Chippewa Falls, established this scholarship in memory of those who were involved in the tragic bus accident on October 16, 2005.

The bus transporting the Chippewa Falls High School Marching Band, its directors and several UW-Eau Claire students collided with a semi-truck on I-94. Five people were killed, including the marching band director (an alum), his wife and his granddaughter, the bus driver and a UW-Eau Claire student. In addition, several people were injured, including UW-Eau Claire students and children of former or current Northwestern Bank employees.

This scholarship honors the commitment of all those on the bus for the marching band, and recognizes those students who not only are committed to the Blugold Marching Band but who are reaching out as volunteers and staff members to support and encourage area high school marching band programs to reach their greatest potential.
