Awarded to an outstanding education major who has graduated from a Wisconsin high school and demonstrated a passion for setting goals and persisting, sometimes through various obstacles, on the path toward reaching a dream. The primary objective of the scholarship is to reward students with great potential and encourage them to continue to strive to succeed.
Students majoring in broadfield social studies who meet the initial criteria should receive first consideration.
The recipient shall have financial need.
The scholarship may be renewed if the recipient maintains satisfactory academic progress and continues to demonstrate a passion for education and a desire to succeed.

|Selection Procedure||The Education Scholarship Committee will select the recipient of the scholarship based upon the criteria above.|
|Notification||The office of the associate dean of Education and Human Sciences will notify the recipient by letter. The recipient will be invited to participate in the College of Education and Human Sciences awards ceremony each spring.|
|Special Notes||Patricia Arts Rinaldi was a nontraditional student who returned to college to earn her degree in education after marrying and starting her family. She then taught at Eau Claire Memorial High School for two years before leaving education to devote the rest of her career to working in partnership with her husband, Emil. This scholarship is a tribute to Patricia's determination and commitment to setting and achieving her life's goals. Mrs. Rinaldi died in 1999.|
