Special Notes

This scholarship honors Drs. Paul Myers and Ronald Willis, emeriti professors in the geology department. Paul and Ron were instrumental in establishing geology field camp experiences in the western United States. These field camps cemented the University's reputation as having a field-based, hands-on geology department.

Ron started the field camp program in the Bighorn Basin and the western flank of the Bighorn Mountains in 1971. Paul started the field camp in Boulder, Montana as an outgrowth of his research with the USGS in that area. The geology department hopes donations to the Myers/Willis Field Camp Scholarship Fund will sustain students' field camp opportunities in the future. The goal is to defray some field camp expenses for several students each year.

Thank You The recipient should write a letter of appreciation to Dr. Paul Myers and send it in care of the UW-Eau Claire Foundation.
