Special Notes

This scholarship has been established to honor and celebrate the life of Paula Hoff, a former UW-Eau Claire psychology major. After a courageous 19-month battle with cancer, Paula died on February 14, 2005, before she was able to complete her degree.

Paula loved people and psychology, and was deeply committed to her goal of being of service to others. She was vivacious -- full of life and energy, and she remained so throughout the entirety of her life, including while she coped with the challenges of cancer. A friend captured the essence of Paula's personality by saying, 'If you had to pick the most alive person, it would be Paula.' She believed in making every moment count. Her courage was an inspiration to others. Paula's goal in life was to extend a helping hand.

Through their support of this scholarship, the contributors hope to assist a student whose life goal is to be of service to others, so that Paula's legacy will live on.

Thank You Each recipient should send a thank you letter to the family of Paula Hoff in care of the UW-Eau Claire Foundation.
