Eligibility Criteria Designated for a Spectator reporting and/or photography staff member who has demonstrated excellence in reporting and/or photography and has made major contributions of time and effort to the editorial success of The Spectator. The recipient of this award is encouraged to apply and continue on The Spectator staff.
Application Procedure Go to the Gold for Blugolds Scholarship Network. Complete the Communication and Journalism Scholarship Application.
Selection Procedure The Communication and Journalism Scholarship Committee and The Spectator adviser will select the recipient.
Selection Deadline Early to mid-April.

The chair of the department will send notification to the recipient.

The winner is expected to attend the Communication and Journalism Student Excellence Recognition Reception held the last day of spring classes.

Special Notes This award was established in honor of Dr. David Gordon, professor and chair of the communication and journalism from 1997-2002, particularly for his efforts in establishing close ties between the department and the Wisconsin Newspaper Association and his success in working with The Washington Post to establish the Ann Devroy Fellowship and the Ann Devroy Memorial Forum.
