Eligibility Criteria

The purpose of this scholarship is to attract and retain highly academically qualified students to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

To be eligible for this award, students should have maintained an overall minimum GPA of 3.8 in high school, finished in the top 5% nationally on the composite ACT; applied to UW-Eau Claire within two years of high school graduation; and be a college freshman (or sophomore or junior in the case of Wisconsin college transferees) intending to seek admission to the College of Arts and Sciences or the College of Business.

Preference shall be given to Wisconsin residents, though non-residents are eligible if no Wisconsin residents of equivalent quality are available.

The award is renewable for up to four years contingent upon satisfactory grades of a cumulative GPA and major/minor GPA of 3.0.

Application Procedure To be considered for Incoming Freshman Student Admissions Scholarships, just submit the application for admission. There is no separate application to apply, application for admission will be considered for all scholarships for which you are eligible. If you have questions, please contact Admissions.
Selection Procedure Admissions will coordinate the selection process, which is highly competitive. The process is based on the student's admissions profile including: transcripts, academic history, list of involvements and essays.
Selection Deadline Screening of candidates will begin in December for some early awards and continue through the spring or until awards are accepted.
Notification Award notices will be sent to recipients by the beginning of April of the student's senior year. If scholarships are declined, they will be re-awarded to alternates through the summer months. The Rath Foundation is to receive copies of the applications of students awarded the scholarships along with other information the UW-Eau Claire Foundation must provide.
