|Amount||Three awards of $2,800.|
This award is intended to give financial assistance to an Elementary Education major during the elementary practicum semester who has attained a high level of scholarship and who shows promise for becoming a successful career teacher.
To be eligible, the student must have been recommended by the MCEA program faculty for an elementary practicum experience, have a resident GPA of 3.50 or higher, be a full-time student during the elementary practicum, and be an undergraduate Elementary Education major.
Special Education majors are not eligible.

|Selection Procedure||The Education Scholarship Committee will select the recipient of the scholarship based upon the criteria above.|
|Selection Deadline||On or about April 1.|
|Notification||The office of the associate dean of Education and Human Sciences will notify the recipient by letter. The recipient will be invited to participate in the College of Education and Human Sciences awards ceremony each spring.|
|Thank You||The recipient should write a letter of thanks to the family of Ruth L. Baker and deliver it to the UW-Eau Claire Foundation.|
