As a Blugold Fellow you will be joining an elite group of individuals. Blugold Fellows comprise less than 1% of the incoming class and have gone on to be recognized as Goldwater Scholars and even one Rhodes Scholar. Students selected for this scholarship demonstrate a continued thirst for knowledge and are ready to begin faculty-student collaborative research freshman year.
To be considered for Incoming Freshman Student Admissions Scholarships, you must first be admitted to the university. Once you are admitted, you must:
The Admissions Office will coordinate the selection process, which is highly competitive. Applications will be considered holistically and include a review of the student's high school transcript, test scores, essays, class rank, class rigor, activities/involvement, etc.
|Selection Deadline||Screening of candidates will begin in December for some early awards and continue through the spring or until awards are accepted.|
|Notification||Award notices will be sent to recipients by the beginning of April of the student's senior year. If scholarships are declined, they will be re-awarded to alternates through the summer months.|
|Special Notes||This award supercedes the Freshman Honors Scholarship. If a recipient receives a larger Foundation award, the larger award replaces the $1,000 award.|
|Thank You||Recipients are expected to write thank you letters addressed to 'Foundation Board Members' and send them in care of the UW-Eau Claire Foundation office.|
