Martha Worthington Foreign Studies Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria Applicants for this scholarship must be majoring in a foreign language and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. There is also a preference for a financial need but it is not required.There is a first preference for a student majoring in French, but it is also not required.

Selection Procedure All members of the French faculty will review the applications and select a recipient. The committee then informs the department chair of the selection. This scholarship award will be applied to the recipient's UW-Eau Claire tuition in the next academic term.
Notification The chair of the Department of Languages will send a notification letter to the recipients.
Special Notes Dr. Martha Worthington first established this fund in 1997. She joined the UW-Eau Claire English and foreign languages faculty in 1966. From 1975-1982, she served as special assistant to the vice chancellor. She returned to teaching in 1982 and retired in 1983. Dr. Worthington died on March 14, 2009, at the age of 90.
